SUSPENSION OF METLIFE IDI SALES
FINAL QUOTING AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES.
As previously announced and as most of you know already, MetLife is suspending sales of their IDI products on September 1, 2016. In light of that date being imminent, we will stop quoting new cases on Friday, July 1, 2016. We will revise any existing proposal that was created prior to that date so that it can be submitted with the application, which we will accept until Wednesday, August 24, 2016, to allow ample time for submission. All delivery requirements for issued policies must be received by MetLife no later than October 31, 2016.
If you have clients that are still considering coverage from Met, I strongly encourage you to contact them as soon as possible, in order to get their application in before the submission cutoff. Once submitted, you must allow time for exams to be completed, medical records to be ordered and received and all underwriting to be completed. The policy has to then be issued and delivered. As stated above, all delivery requirements must be in by 10.31.16.
See the message below that comes directly from MetLife.
Please Note: - IDI Sales will be suspended on 9/1/2016. The final date to submit an application is 9/1/2016. All new applications must be received in our office no later than 9/1/2016 in good order to be considered.
The final date to place a policy is 10/31/16. This does not apply to Guaranteed Increase Options (GIO) or Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) business.
