MetLife adds new Occ Class and Simplified Issue Program.
Met has added 6S as their new top occ class. A select group of ten former 6A occupations have been upgraded to this class and have a 10% reduction in premium. If you have a case in underwriting currently, it will automatically be upgraded. There is also a 90 day look back for issued cases. It is important to know that it is not available in CA and as of 11.12.07, it is approved only in the following states:

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Met also has introduced a Simplified Underwriting program for individual and fully underwritten multi-life cases. It is available on both the Advantage and Essential products.
The issue limits are up to $3,000 per month, at issues ages up to 50.
BOE up to $7,500 is also available with this program.

MassMutual Enhances their DI Product Line.
To try and keep pace with the competition, MassMutual has added a True Own Occupation rider, new occ class and increased issue and particiption limits for certain medical professionals, and has reduced rates for Class 5A. For more details, download the pdf file below.

MetLife introduces Retirement Completion product and increases Issue & Participation for Docs
MetLife will now issue up to 16k per month for Class 5S Physicians (which now includes Orthodontits). They will also participate with other individual coverage to 16k for Class 5I and 4M Dental and Medical Professionals.

MetLife also introduces their version of a disability policy that is designed to protect your retirement plan contribution. Similar in concept to those currently being offered by Berkshire, MassMutual, and Principal, this is a stand alone policy based on their individual and multi-life products. However, Met is also offering a guaranteed renewable version on their Omni Essential product chassis, at a lower cost.
